Our Story

Charleston is a city that truly offers something for everyone. Uptown Hospitality Group prides itself on following suit. Launched in 2018 with its first concept, Uptown Social, both locals and tourists alike were confronted with a one-of-a-kind all-encompassing entertainment experience. Whether it’s a picture in front of the iconic “Social Butterfly”, a classic Thin+Crispy pizza, or jamming out to one of our legendary bands, Uptown Social truly checks all of the boxes.

Building off this momentum, the partners behind Uptown Hospitality Group gave birth to Bodega and Share House located at 23 Ann Street in the spring of 2022. Bodega is known for it’s NY style breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and Share House with it’s airy, cantina vibes throws the absolute best party off King Street both day and night. The group opened it’s second Bodega location in Mount Pleasant in the spring of 2024, and plans to open By the Way, an upscale tavern, and The Waverly, a wedding and event space late fall 2024.
